Fewer films are made on children’s stories now. Considering that the presence of big stars guarantees the film to be a hit, a film with a good story about children has not been seen for the last few years. Writer director Swaroop Raj has appeared with his second film ‘Mission Impossible’ which was released on Netflix on 29th April. The specialty of this film is that the main actors of the film are children, but at no point does this film look like it can be seen only by children. The film is a comedy but also has elements of a thriller and Taapsee Pannu is also in a small but important role in the film, who has probably tried to show that any film with a good story, by acting in such a film, has to do that. are ready. The movie is funny. Every once in a while something or the other happens on the screen that you cannot take your eyes off the film. Making and watching such films, both are important in today’s date. How a film can be made clean and entertaining without vulgarity can be seen in Mission Impossible.
The story is about three children of a village, who are a little troubled by the life of poverty and lack, so they keep thinking throughout the day how to earn money. One of the three wants to go to ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ on the basis of his general knowledge. The second one wants to become a film director like Ram Gopal Varma and the third one wants to see himself as a fast bowler in the cricket team. They keep trying to earn money sporadically but one day they come to know about Dawood Ibrahim. Unaware of their abilities and inspired by the films, the three set out for Mumbai to capture Dawood and hand it over to the police and get a reward of 50 lakhs. The story takes a turn and by mistake they end up in Bangalore instead of Mumbai where they lose their money in the hands of petty thieves trying to catch Dawood. When one misses home, suddenly one of them is kidnapped from the road. On the other hand, Taapsee Pannu is a journalist who wants to expose the gang of kidnapping children and selling them to sheikhs. With the help of Taapsee, both the remaining children reach the place where their friend is. With the help of their cleverness and the police, they pass on the video of child trafficking to the police, who come at the last moment and raid and save the children.
The strength of the film is these three children who are from a small village but are influenced by films and television. This is also the fact. Many types of dreams and plans are born in the minds of children by watching movies. His confidence is worth watching. To understand how long it will take to reach Mumbai, he measures the distance in centimeters on the map. To understand the cost of living in the lodge, they send a person to the lodge by telling the wrong rate and after listening to the conversation between the lodge manager and the customer, they guess how much the rent will be. To go to the bus, they catch the bus from a dhaba outside the city so that no one can see them. By mistake, when they reach Bangalore instead of Mumbai, the most educated child among the three says that the real name of Mumbai is Bangalore. To learn Hindi from a teacher in a few hours, he talks so eloquently that even the teacher gets ready to teach him Hindi.
The story is written by director Swaroop Raj, whose debut film Agent Sai Srinivasa Atreya was an excellent comedy film, in which a satirical story was created on the plan of an ordinary man to become a detective. This film is weak in comparison. It is entertaining but there are many loopholes in the screenplay. The three kids go by car to get an idea of the city but where does the car come from and how do they know how to drive it? Taapsee Pannu is a journalist but it is not understood why she keeps on doing stories on only one leader on the same case. It is not known why the policeman who is helping them does not seek the help of his colleagues beforehand. After being abducted, the children throw each part of their Rubik’s Cube out of the car so that the police can follow them, but their kidnappers don’t even notice it all the way. The kidnapped children are kept in a bungalow and these three children install a hidden camera there while they themselves are abducted like other children. It is also difficult to understand why the corrupt leader and his henchmen behave like fools in the whole matter. There are many such mistakes which start stinging after a while. The good thing is that the pace of the story is good, so the eyes cannot be saved from whatever is happening on the screen.
Taapsee’s acting is fine. In one scene where she traps the security guard of the kidnappers, she is worth watching, rest of the time her work is as per the requirement. At some places, she has also looked stupid. Harsh Roshan, Bhanuprakash and Jayateerth – all three are the real stars of the film. Neither his knowledge of geography is good nor of English spellings. Because of these three, the first part of the film passes with great fun. While listening to the dialogues of these children and watching the scenes, it seems that the film is going to be a wonderful comedy, but then the film turns into a crime, ie kidnapping, and the audience feels a bit foolish. Mark Robin’s music can almost be described as raucous. Music doesn’t sound right in any scene. The same thing is also with the cinematography of Yagera Deepak. Where the shame of crime comedy starts coming, there suddenly comes the scene of villain’s brutality and there is no connecting link in both the scenes.
It is a lot of fun while watching the film because the dialogues are funny, the children’s characters are very funny and silly with the innocence of their age, but the rest of the time the film doesn’t know what it wants to say. It is possible that the script of the film was fun to read but its filming could have been many times better. The film could have been better if the writer/director had taken opinion about the script from an expert instead of just listening to himself. Along with the fun-jokes in the story, the film could have been better if a little continuity was also taken care of. Factual mistakes could have been avoided. Despite all this, all three kids have done a great job. Any actress would have done in place of Taapsee, but Taapsee might have done the film only because the script is very good, but Swaroop has made many mistakes while putting it on screen. Viewers can still watch the film because nowadays films are not made with children in mind and they can also watch the film sitting with the family.
